AF Partners--A New Firm with a Long Track Record!!

AF Partners is a new law firm based in Geneva, Switzerland. Although founded in 2021 by Anca Apetria and Edward Patrick Flaherty, Anca and I have been representing international civil servants in litigation against their employers, as well as whistleblowers and third parties injured by IOs, for a combined total of over 30 years!!

The purpose of this blog and website is to educate international civil servants and others about their employment rights vis è vis IOs, and to level the playing field in disputes between organisations and staff, staff associations, whistleblowers and injured third parties (which playing field is still woefully tilted in favor of the administrations). Anca will also post about interesting areas of Swiss law which most international civil servants based in Switzerland have to eventually deal with, either personally or professionally

Our competence and zealousness in the representation of our clients is reflected in the Projects and Judgments sections of the website.

We hope to do a regular review of the ILOAT and UNAT judgment sessions as they occur, as well as interesting developments in general Swiss law--if you want to be updated regularly about such new case developments, please sign up here.

We also intend to offer by subscription detailed but general primers for UN/IO staff who are being mobbed or sexually harassed, are facing a post abolition or a disciplinary investigation, or other re-occurring situations we are regularly consulted about by clients. Again, such primers should not be treated as legal advice as each circumstance is different, but it will help staff to know if they need specific legal advice. We may even put the primers together in a staff handbook.

Eventually, we also hope to do a regular podcast on various legal issues of interest, certainly about the law of the international civil service, as well as issues of Swiss and American law.
